THIS DE-ACTIVATED MORTER BOMB IS A BATTLEFIELD FIND ,COMPLETE WITH FUSE /FIRING MECHANISM , WHICH FAILED TO EXPLODE IN 1916. PROBABLY LANDED IN THICK MUD ?FANTASTIC DISPLAY PIECE ON ITS STAND COMPLETE WITH RARE FIRING MECHANISM.-FROM MY OWN COLLECTION .

THE LARGE HEAD WAS FILLED WITH EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL. SHOWN EMPTY WITH BRASS SCREWED CAP STATING M&P 2-16 NO 1 .THIS WAS USED WHEN TRANSPORTED AND REPLACED WITH FIRING MECHANISM PRIOR TO FIRING.
